Hot Tub & Spa Repair in Boston

Hot tub repairs range from minor jet replacements and filter issues to pump failures, heater element burnout, and control board faults. Most repairs can be completed in a single visit when parts are on hand — we carry common components for major brands and can typically restore a non-functioning spa to operation the same day.

Jet Pump Failures

The jet pump — which pressurizes water through the spa jets — is the most frequently repaired component in a portable hot tub. Jet pump failures present as reduced jet pressure, intermittent operation, unusual noise (grinding, rattling, or high-pitched whine), or complete failure to start. The underlying causes range from minor to major: a clogged impeller from debris that bypassed the filter, a failed wet end seal causing the pump to draw air, a worn motor bearing producing noise, or a burned motor winding requiring full pump replacement.

Diagnosis begins with distinguishing between the pump motor and the wet end. A motor that hums but does not turn the impeller typically indicates a capacitor failure — a relatively inexpensive repair. A motor that turns freely but produces no water flow indicates an impeller or seal issue. A motor that does not respond electrically indicates a control board, relay, or motor winding fault. We carry replacement capacitors, seals, and impellers for common pump models and can replace most pump wet end components on site. Motor replacement or full pump replacement is completed on the same visit when replacement units are in stock for the specific pump model.
